“I Inspire” Award

A memorial fund was set up in honor of Teri Keaty Joyce in partnership with MHR Foundation aimed to spread the message of love, kindness and support for education as that was a theme in her life. The Teri Keaty Joyce “I Inspire” Teacher Recognition Program was launched in Spring 2024 aimed to recognize the important role teachers play in the lives of children. Please see attached to learn more about the “I Inspire Teacher Recognition Program” and how to go about nominating a teacher at Most Holy Redeemer.

Elim School 5k – SAVE THE DATE – May 19

One of the goals of our annual MHR Plus Day is to raise money to support Elim School in its mission to “support children and adults with disabilities in leading their fullest, God-given lives.”  Led by a group of eighth-grade students, we hope to support Elim School by taking part in their annual 5K fundraiser on Saturday, May 18, at 9 a.m.  Please click the following link if you wish to register and support Elim.

Additionally, Thursday, May 16, will be designated an Elim School “Blue Out” at MHR.  Students are encouraged to wear blue to support Elim School and donate $1 to this incredible school.

We thank 8th graders Bryan Chesley, Jake Fleming, Isaac Tushkowski, Jack Fratto, Jack Badke, Joe Tracy, Henry Melby, and Billy Wollenberg for leading this initiative.

Honoring Wally Prim – Please see the following message from parishioner Jackie Moline.

Many of you are honored to know Wally Prim. Wally has his 92nd birthday coming up at the end of May and we want to celebrate his life.

Wally is an alum of Honor Flight Chicago, and our organization wants to honor and thank him again for his service to our country while serving in the Army during the Korean War.

On Saturday, May 18th Honor Flight Chicago will be sponsoring a BIRTHDAY/THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, CAR PARADE.

Those wishing to join us in this car parade should gather in the parking lot of Holy Redeemer Church, 95th Lawndale, between 10:15 and 10:30AM. Parade due to depart the lot by 11AM. Our plan is to drive south on Millard to 97th Street and then north onto Ridgeway, past Wally’s house (9629 S. Ridgeway). Hopefully, depending on the weather, our birthday boy and his wife Gail will be seated in front of their house for the celebration. We would go around the parade route twice.

We invite people to decorate their cars, bring a card for him or just come out to wish him well. Please feel free to pass the word to others….just NOT to Wally. At this moment it is a SURPRISE.

If you have any questions, please call Jackie Moline at (708) 422-7890.
