RAIDER RAMBLINGS

Mr. Turney’s Raider Ramblings

Raider of the Week

Sawyer embodies the MHR Graduate Profile attribute, “Inspirational.”  Recently, Sawyer was selected to be part of the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Pipeline.  Last month, while playing at a tournament in California, Sawyer was awarded the Nick Johnson Inspiration Award. This award represents integrity, hard work, and being an inspiration to her peers. We’re so proud to say Sawyer was this year’s Midwest recipient. She’s a true team player and is an example for all to keep “doing good.”

“I Inspire” Award

A memorial fund was set up in honor of Teri Keaty Joyce in partnership with MHR Foundation aimed to spread the message of love, kindness and support for education as that was a theme in her life. The Teri Keaty Joyce “I Inspire” Teacher Recognition Program was launched in Spring 2024 and aims to recognize the important role teachers play in the lives of children. Please see the attached form to learn more about the “I Inspire Teacher Recognition Program” and how to go about nominating a teacher at Most Holy Redeemer.

Warm Weather Dress Code – COMING SOON

With warmer temperatures approaching, we may be shifting to our warm-weather dress code in the coming weeks. Until our warm-weather dress code is officially announced, students must remain in our regular dress code. This includes pants and sweatpants—shorts are not to be worn at this time. Stay tuned to future Ramblings for further information.

Monday, April 29 “Early Dismissal Games”

We are proud of our eighth-grade students for animating their leadership projects this month.  Please a message from our team leading the monthly “Early Dismissal Games” for our primary students:

Thank you for sending your child/children to our 1:30 pm “Early Dismissal Games.”  This message serves as a reminder that our second session will take place, Monday, April 29.  Once again, members of our team will go and pick up the students from their classrooms and bring them to the gym. Students should be picked up at 2:30 pm in Briody Hall.

We are very excited to continue this program with your child/children!

Thank you!

Cat Witt, Wyn Shalack, Maeve Stratton, Hope Harkins, and Dylan Lawrence

MHR Foundation Update

The MHR School Foundation is currently seeking applicants for the Board of Directors.

The MHR School Foundation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit entity and aims to support the long-term success of the school, our parish, and our community.  The establishment of the MHR Foundation ensures that every year Most Holy Redeemer School will receive a monetary gift from the foundation’s endowment.  Building an endowment will help ensure that Most Holy Redeemer can continue to provide quality, value-based Catholic education.

This is a volunteer position, and applicants must be an MHR School alum or a current parishioner and have a minimum of 5 years of work experience.  Current or past experience serving on a board of directors is a plus.

If interested in applying, please contact Steve Sise at sjsise@gmail.com.
