October 18 – Lockdown Drill; 10 am

We will conduct a school lockdown drill Wednesday, October 18 at 10 am. This week, in preparation for the drill, our teachers will speak to their students on the procedures and general school safety.

We invite all parents/guardians to take time to speak with your students as well. Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students safe.

October 18 – First Reconciliation Meeting; 6:30 pm Church

Invitation to Weekend Mass

All are invited each weekend to celebrate the Eucharist as a community.  We have many mass offerings throughout the weekend: Saturday – 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, and Sunday – 8:00 am, 9:30 am, and 11:00 am.

**UPCOMING** MHR Foundation Merry Market

All are invited to join our MHR School Foundation as they host an “MHR Merry Market” on November 2nd at the former Jacobs Well (3450 W. Maple St) from 6-9 pm.  A variety of local vendors will be present – Lemolade, CGT, Simple & Savory, and Kendra Scott jewelry (they will be doing permanent bracelets!)  Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to find the perfect holiday gifts while giving back to our school. The vendors are generously donating a portion of their proceeds to benefit our students’ education.

**UPCOMING** Thanksgiving Holiday

I wish to take a moment to highlight our upcoming Thanksgiving Break as it is different from recent years.  This year, students will have no school during the week of Thanksgiving.  We will have faculty professional development along with on-site and virtual parent teacher conferences Monday and Tuesday. Please see a detailed breakdown of each day below:

  • November 20 – No School – Staff PD/Afternoon On Site Parent Teacher Conferences
  • November 21 – No School – Virtual Morning Parent Teacher Conferences
  • November 22 – 24 – No School – Thanksgiving Break
  • November 27 – Classes resume

MHR Arrival Procedures – UPDATE

Recently, many students have begun to arrive early to school and congregate on site.  Our student arrival protocol states that “Students may begin to enter the school building each day between 7:50 am and 8:10 am.”  Students should not arrive at school and wait outside the building unsupervised before 7:50 am.  Doing so is a safety risk.  Effective Monday, October 9, if a student arrives before 7:50 am, he or she will be welcomed into extended day care and the family’s FACTS account will be charged the appropriate rate – $2 per 15 minutes of care.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.
