October 23 – First Responders Day

Thank you, Parent’s Club, for leading the charge to celebrate first responders.

October 23 – October 27 – Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week at MHR is a time to celebrate.  We celebrate one another, our health, our ability to serve others, and our futures!  Each day next week will be themed, with a special dress code and activities.  Please see the week’s schedule below:

Be Optimistic, Be Courageous, Be Christian

Monday: “Be on a Drug Free Team”

MHR students stand in solidarity with individuals and families coping with substance abuse.

Students may wear a favorite team jersey or shirt with uniform bottoms or gym pants.

Tuesday: “Link Up To Be Healthy”

MHR students will sign a pledge link in school and we will create a chain to symbolize our commitment to live a healthy lifestyle!

Students may wear a favorite RED shirt with uniform bottoms or gym pants.

Wednesday: “Raiders are Always Here to Help”

MHR students will bring in donations for the Homeless Veterans Drive – see Veterans Day Collection flyer passed out Friday.

Students may wear their favorite USA, camouflage, red, white, or blue shirts with uniform bottoms or gym pants.

Thursday: “My Future is Bright”

MHR students graduate equipped with leadership skills to set them up for success at the high school of their choice and beyond.

Students may wear a favorite college or high school shirt with uniform bottoms or gym pants.

October 27 – No School – Staff PD 

Employment Opportunity – Head of Facilities

Recently, Mr. Timothy O’Connell retired from Most Holy Redeemer School and Parish after 22 years of service.  More news will be shared about a time to celebrate Mr. O’Connell in the coming weeks.  After completing a thorough needs assessment, Most Holy Redeemer School and Parish is accepting applications to fulfill this important position.  Interested applicants should reach out to Mr. Turney.

Raider Academy

We are pleased to once again offer Raider Academy, an after school homework help program. Raider Academy is offered free of charge to any MHR student K-8. Sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-3:30 in the LRC Students will receive help on homework assignments from MHR teachers and middle school volunteers! If you are interested in signing up, please fill out the form below so we can plan accordingly.  Sessions will begin October 24.

**UPCOMING** MHR Foundation Merry Market

All are invited to join our MHR School Foundation as they host an “MHR Merry Market” on November 2nd at the former Jacobs Well (3450 W. Maple St) from 6-9 pm.  A variety of local vendors will be present – Lemolade, CGT, Simple & Savory, and Kendra Scott jewelry (they will be doing permanent bracelets!)  Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to find the perfect holiday gifts while giving back to our school. The vendors are generously donating a portion of their proceeds to benefit our students’ education.

**UPCOMING** Thanksgiving Holiday

I wish to take a moment to highlight our upcoming Thanksgiving Break as it is different from recent years.  This year, students will have no school during the week of Thanksgiving.  We will have faculty professional development along with on-site and virtual parent teacher conferences Monday and Tuesday. Please see a detailed breakdown of each day below:

  • November 20 – No School – Staff PD/Afternoon On Site Parent Teacher Conferences
  • November 21 – No School – Virtual Morning Parent Teacher Conferences
  • November 22 – 24 – No School – Thanksgiving Break
  • November 27 – Classes resume
