Raider Ramblings

Thank you for joining us for Mr. Turney’s Raider Ramblings!

February 16 – No School – Staff PD

Our faculty and staff are excitedly embarking on a journey to re-align school-wide curriculum.  To do this work, we enlisted the support of curriculum and instruction specialist Dr. Steven Oertle as we build research-based and school-aligned MHR “Heart” Standards, Learning Progressions, Rubrics, and Summative Assessments for all grade levels.  This mission-driven work will further enhance our existing student-centered learning environment.  I am happy to share more about this process.  If interested, please reach out.

February 19 – No School – Presidents Day

February 24 – Parish Appreciation Dinner; 6:30 PM – Briody Hall

3rd Annual MHR Plus Day

In 2022, two MHR students, both of whom had siblings with special needs, voiced that they wished their siblings could experience a day at MHR. Thus, MHRPlus Day was born – a day of inclusion to celebrate the uniqueness in us all! We invite siblings, cousins, or family members of MHR students with special needs to spend a day with us and experience what it’s like to be an MHR Raider! Guests will participate in activities led by MHR students, and lunch will be provided!

For questions or to RSVP, please contact Ms. Scannell at mscannell@mhrschool.com.

St. Baldrick’s Day

We are excited to announce that Most Holy Redeemer School will again host a St. Baldrick’s event/fundraiser on March 8, 2024, at 1:00pm.  We hope to have another great turnout this year.

If your child wishes to participate, we ask that he/she register NOW in order to receive a T-Shirt that can be worn that day.

Please register your child at:

https://www.stbaldricks.org/events/MHR2024

If you can help at our event as a shaver or have any questions, please contact Mrs. Kelly Malinger at kmalinger@mhrschool.com.

SAB Fundraiser

We are excited to share a fun, new raffle opportunity for music lovers to support MHR’s classroom enhancements. The winner will receive four (4) premium tickets to see Zach Bryan on Thursday, March 7th, from the Mich Ultra Club Seats at the United Center. This night out also comes with round-trip black car service! In total, the prize is worth $2,000!

There are 50 tickets available.  You may purchase your ticket for $100 in the MHR Main Office.  Email any questions to sab@mhrschool.com.  Get yours now before they sell out — good luck, and thank you for your continued support of the Most Holy Redeemer!

MHR Calendar Change

A longstanding tradition at Most Holy Redeemer is to have no school the day after the South Side Irish Parade.  Last year, when creating our calendar, this day was observed on Monday, March 11.  This was done because, historically, the South Side Irish Parade was the Sunday before St. Patrick’s Day.  This year, however, the parade was switched to Sunday, March 17.  Therefore, we will switch our day off from Monday, March 11, to Monday, March 18.

Also, Family Mass will switch from March 17 to March 10.  Please contact the rectory if you wish to march in the parade or join the MHR trolley.  Wear MHR gear!
