Raider Ramblings

Thank you for joining us for Mr. Turney’s Raider Ramblings!

Raider of the Week  – Maggie and Mary Cate

Maggie and Mary Cate displayed the attributes of Christian and Aware when they stepped up to serve during the 4:30 mass when there was only one server on the altar.  Maggie and Mary Cate know how difficult it is to serve by yourself and step up to help their friend.

Thank you for setting a good example, Maggie and Mary Cate!

Zach Bryan Raffle

Congratulations to the Moore family for winning the Zach Bryan Tour raffle.  They are off to the United Center for a wonderful evening in just a few short weeks!  Thank you to all for supporting this fundraiser with the purchase of a raffle ticket and to our School Advisory Board for planning this fun and exciting opportunity.

2024/2025 Registration – Autoenroll

Next year, all currently enrolled students will be automatically enrolled as MHR students for the 2024/2025 school year.  If you wish to withdraw your student, please inform the main office by March 1.  If you wish to enroll a new student, please contact the main office for a registration packet.

MHR 8th Grade Leadership Projects

Our 8th-grade students are hard at work developing projects to enhance our school community through their Leadership class.  Stay tuned for more information on how to get involved and support.  In the meantime, please find a message to all Grade 1-4 families from a team of 8th-grade students:

This is Maeve Stratton, Dylan Lawrence, Cat Witt, Wyn Shalack, and Hope Harkins. We have created a fun way to end the month as part of our Leadership course. Following each 1:30 Dismissal, there will be games in the gym that we have created for grades 1-4. It will be hosted from 1:30-2:20 on March 25, April 29, and May 20. Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey. We are looking for a few different things such as game ideas and chaperones. We hope that your kids will meet new friends, play new games, and have new, fun, and exciting experiences. Thank you for taking the time to read this and we hope to see you there!

3rd Annual MHR Plus Day

In 2022, two MHR students who had siblings with special needs voiced that they wished their siblings could experience a day at MHR. Thus, MHR Plus Day was born – a day of inclusion to celebrate the uniqueness in us all! We invite siblings, cousins, or family members of MHR students with special needs to spend a day with us and experience what it’s like to be an MHR Raider! Guests will participate in activities led by MHR students, and lunch will be provided!

For questions or to RSVP, please contact Ms. Scannell at mscannell@mhrschool.com.

MHR Plus Day Community Outreach

We will raise funds for two incredible organizations – Elim School and the Cornelia De Lange foundation. We invite you to join us in supporting their important work by donating. If you would like to contribute, please send your donations to the front office by March 7th. If you have any questions about how you can help, please do not hesitate to contact dturney@mhrschool.com. Thank you for your generosity and support!

Thank you to our 8th-grade students for executing this fundraiser.

St. Baldrick’s Day

We are excited to announce that Most Holy Redeemer School will again host a St. Baldrick’s event/fundraiser on March 8, 2024 at 1:00 pm.  We hope to have another great turnout this year.

Last year we raised over $25,000.  We are currently just under $10,000.  Let’s do a final push to exceed last year’s total!!!  If we exceed $25,000 Mr. Turney will shave his head!

Please register your child at:

If you are available to help out at our event as a shaver or have any questions please contact Mrs. Kelly Malinger at kmalinger@mhrschool.com.

MHR Foundation Update

The MHR School Foundation is currently seeking applicants for the Board of Directors.

The MHR School Foundation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit entity and aims to support the long-term success of the school, our parish, and our community.  The establishment of the MHR Foundation ensures that every year Most Holy Redeemer School will receive a monetary gift from the foundation’s endowment.  Building an endowment will help ensure that Most Holy Redeemer can continue to provide quality, value-based Catholic education.

This is a volunteer position, and applicants must be an MHR School alum or a current parishioner and have a minimum of 5 years of work experience.  Current or past experience serving on a board of directors is a plus.

If interested in applying, please contact Steve Sise at sjsise@gmail.com.
