Raider Ramblings

Thank you for joining us for a late edition of Mr. Turney’s Raider Ramblings!

Raider of the Week: Brendan O’Connell

7th Grade-Ms. Cagney’s Homeroom

Before break, I was asked to substitute for the seventh grade class and was amazed at the leadership skills Brendan exhibited.  Brendan happily led his peers in prayers and was so eager to engage in the lesson for the day.  He is always smiling and pleasant. Brendan  always treats others with kindness.  If more people approached life with the positive and kind attitude of Brendan the world would be so much better off.

Kids Helping Kids – Friday, May 5 – Out of Uniform Day

Most Holy Redeemer will participate in this year’s “Kids Helping Kids” campaign.  Donations from this Special Olympics fundraiser help support athletes from Mount Greenwood Park and all over Chicago. Money raised will cover costs of programming for individuals who cannot afford the cost.  Special Olympics is a solid organization that provides recreation and support for Individuals with Disabilities and their families. They also provide volunteer opportunities for our local students.

iReady Diagnostic Three

MHR students will begin taking their third and final iReady Diagnostic assessments Monday, May 1.  The i-Ready Diagnostic test is designed to help educators by providing meaningful data about the instructional needs of their students and connecting them to i-Ready math and reading instruction that is proven to raise student achievement.

In the coming weeks, we ask all students to take their time and try their best during these important assessments, as the results impact many educational decisions made at MHR.

If you would like to learn more about iReady, feel free to reach out to me to set up a phone call or meeting.  In addition, please click here for more information.
