Greetings MHR Families,

We are so thankful for the community effort to make our second annual “Day of Giving,” a success.  At the moment, we have raised over $50,000 dollars through our MHR School Foundation.

Yesterday, our entire student body collected 18 boxes of items for those in need in Evergreen Park.  Furthermore, each student in our middle school spent time at the Evergreen Park Food Pantry organizing goods, building care packages, and creating good wish letters to be included in each and every bag for distribution Friday.  Two of our “MHR Graduate Profile” call students to be “Servant Leaders” and “Aware.”  Our students met and exceeded these expectations with their efforts Thursday.  Thank you, Raiders!!

Today, we celebrate!  I invite all to take a moment to view the WGN News this afternoon at 4 PM.  MHR parishioner Patrick Elwood and his crew covered our service and will run a special on MHR.  In addition, please visit our school’s Instagram – @mhrraiders and @mhr_principalturney as well as the MHR Foundation’s @mhrfoundation – for images of our students at work. Check out their facebook and twitter pages as well!

We are quickly approaching this year’s “Day of Giving” fundraising goal.  I invite all families to share our good news with family and friends this weekend, and if the spirit moves them, support our great cause – http://www.givemhr.com.

Finally, thank you to the MHR Foundation and Deacon Phelan for making yesterday such a special day for our community.  I take pride, alongside Fr. Hyland and our faculty and staff, in serving this great community.

Go Raiders!

Mr. Dan Turney
